Basic Product Parameters
Chemical name: Ferrous Fumarate, also known as Iron(II) Fumarate
Molecular formula: C₄H₂FeO₄
Molecular weight: 169.93 g/mol
CAS number: 141-01-5
Physical & Chemical Properties
The product appears as orange-red to reddish-brown fine powder with a slight inherent odor. It presents slight solubility in water and almost no solubility in ethanol and other conventional organic solvents. The measured density of the product is 2.435 g/cm³. Stable physical and chemical conditions are maintained under standard room temperature and atmospheric pressure storage and placement scenarios, with no spontaneous decomposition or deterioration.
Industrial Applications
Ferrous fumarate is a high bioavailability iron source material, applicable in pharmaceutical, food processing and feed production industries with standardized functional purposes.
In pharmaceutical manufacturing, it is formulated into iron supplement preparations for the prevention and clinical treatment of iron deficiency anemia, serving as a conventional iron supplement raw material for pharmaceutical finished products.
In food production, it is used as a nutritional iron fortifier. It can be added to staple food products, dairy products and infant formula to supplement iron content in daily diets and meet national food nutrition fortification standards.
In feed processing, it is used as an iron nutrition additive for livestock and poultry feed. It supplements essential iron elements for animal growth, regulates animal iron nutrition levels and supports normal growth and development of breeding animals.
Packaging Specifications
The product adopts a dual-layer integrated packaging structure to isolate external impurities and moisture. The inner packaging is made of food-grade sealed PE material, which achieves effective moisture and pollution isolation. The outer packaging is reinforced composite woven plastic material, providing mechanical protection against wear and puncture during handling and transit.
Standard package net weight is 25 kg per unit. Customized packaging specifications are supported based on customer order and usage requirements.
Storage & Transportation Requirements
Finished products shall be stored in dry, ventilated and constant-temperature warehouses. Original packaging must be kept intact and sealed at all times to avoid moisture absorption and product quality changes.
During transportation, goods shall be kept away from direct sunlight, rainwater soaking and high-temperature environments. Loading and unloading operations require gentle handling to prevent packaging breakage and material leakage.
Separate storage and transportation are mandatory for this product and all toxic, hazardous chemical materials to eliminate cross-contamination risks and ensure product purity and safety.
